About

One person. You work with me, start to finish.

No account managers, no handoff to a junior, no jargon you didn’t ask for. When you hire me, you get me — someone who learns your business and builds the thing himself.

I’ve been building software since I was twelve, when I taught myself to code by making little games. That turned into years as a self-taught developer building all of it — websites, full applications, the front and the back. I learned by shipping things and watching them break.

I also spent a long stretch in the marketing world: SEO, ads, helping small businesses get found and win customers. That part matters more than it sounds. It means I’ve sat across from a lot of owners who were busy, a little skeptical, and tired of being sold things they didn’t understand. I learned to talk plainly, and to care about whether something actually helped a real business rather than whether it looked clever.

Now I do the same thing with AI. The technology is genuinely useful, and most of it is being sold badly — overpromised, oversubscribed, and left half-working. My job is the opposite: find the few places it will really help you, build those, and make sure they keep running after I’m gone.

Plenty of what I do has no AI in it at all — a custom tool, a small program, a clunky process made less painful. I’m a developer first, and AI is one tool on the bench. When it does fit, I use it to build faster and keep your costs down — while being honest that it speeds up some of the work and barely touches the rest. Anyone telling you AI makes all software cheap and instant is selling something.

There’s a name for how I work. At the big AI companies, the engineers who go and sit inside a customer’s business to build the real thing — instead of mailing over advice — are called “forward deployed.” That’s what I do, for the kind of business that could never get one of those people on the phone.

What you get working with me

Direct

Just me, the whole way

The person you talk to is the person who builds it. Nothing gets lost in a handoff, because there isn’t one.

Plain

No jargon thrown at you

You don’t need to know how any of it works. I’ll explain what I’m doing in normal words, and you can stay as hands-off as you like.

Honest

Straight answers about AI

I work with these tools every day. I’ll tell you where they’re genuinely good and where the hype is lying — including when the right answer is “don’t bother.”

Grounded

I’ve worked with small businesses

Years of helping owners and firms get real results taught me what actually matters when you’re busy and the budget is your own money.

Next step

Let’s talk about what’s slowing you down.

You don’t need a plan or the right words for it. Just tell me what eats your time, and I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
